All the creatures of the night gather in “the Hollows” of Cincinnati, to hide, to prowl, to party…and to feed.
Vampires rule the darkness in a predator-eat-predator world rife with dangers beyond imagining – and it’s Rachel Morgan’s job to keep that world civilized.
A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she’ll bring ’em back alive, dead…or undead.
I am late to the party, y’all., but I’m on the Rachel Morgan bandwagon, now! This book was absolutely addicting and I hated getting out of my car when I got to work each morning. I could have driven across the country just to keep listening. Rachel is a fabulous MC, full of so many flaws I couldn’t help but identify with her…you know, besides the fact that she lives with a vampire and pixie. She’s ridiculously stubborn and does so many stupid things, the book keeps right on rolling.
It took me a chapter or two to get into Ms. Gavin’s voice, but once I did, I fell in love with it and am extremely happy she narrates the rest of the series.
I’ve already put on hold the next to books at the library. I don’t think they have the rest of the audiobooks there and am more than a bit bummed I might not be able to listen to them.
I’m on a roll, two good audiobooks in a row!

Thanks everyone who participated in the impromptu blog hop Monday! It was fun reading everyone’s take on the Twitter dialogue. I’ve chosen the fabulously creative Krispy as the winner for the hop. I loved her post so much that I’m trying to maker her turn it into a short story, this is just another ploy to make her do so 😉
I loved your review of the book, it was great! I like the fact you can identify with the MC. It tells me the author can relate with her target audience!
Thanks for the recommendation! Good job! 😉
Oh goodness, you are too kind!!! THANK YOU!
Also, would this count as bribery? If so, @CollectorW highly approves, but I suspect it’s because he just wants a story…
Woo thanks for the audiobook rec!
And congrats Krispy – so glad to see my co-bobalover won
Congrats, Krispy!! Juliana, great review on Harrison’s book! I have to say, the comment you made on Twitter made me smile all day. :)) Harrison’s a witty and fun writer!
I love audio books. I need to listen to more. This one sounds great so I’ll have to go check it out. Thanks for the review.
A vampire and a pixie? Sounds interesting! Thanks for the recommendation 🙂
You can have Twitter blog hops? FUN! I’ll get in the action next time.
Alright, I guess I need to try Kim Harrison again. I started reading one of her books a couple of years ago and I stopped before I finished the first chapter. I don’t even know why really. I guess I need to push through. Maybe audio is the way to go on this one:)
OOo congrats, Krispy! I totally agree. Great dialogue.
Audio books are so different… I mean, I’ve “read” audio books where you can’t get into the voice at all and so I toss a possibly good book. I dunno how I feel about them…
